    Post Drum...WIP...updated 1/14/01

Here's the starting of another project. it's going to be a full drumset w/ cymbals and everything and three guitars. here's the default drum tool (i might add more detail or something to it, i'm not sure) and the drumsticks. i've made an electric guitar body, but i haven't painted it or anything, so it doesn't look that great.

this is an updated version of the drum i made. it has a rim and a drum head, like Stonecutter suggested.

Nice drum and sticks, the drum set should make an interesting image.

    Thumbs up

Well done - should be interesting to watch you build the full kit!

    Good job, Jib!!
You might want to recess the drum head some.
As a drummer, I might find it a little hard to get a rim-shot off that tom, but the materials really do make it...!

Hey, those look really good. I must admit though, I am more interested in seeing those guitars you mentioned. What types are you planning on modelling? I hope you can find room for a Les Paul.

hey, everyone, thanks for the comments. i really appreciate them.

Stonecutter, i tried doing a rim on the drum, but it just made the top of the drum look weird. you can kind of see stretch marks where the drum head should be, (just imagine those exaggerated and you'll see what happened). anyway, i might multi-marker a rim onto the drum. anyway, it might not be very noticable in the final pic.

kelly, unfortuanately i'm not a guitarist (i'm a drummer like Stonecutter) and so i don't know what a Les Paul looks like. but my 2 bros play guitar, so i'll see what i can do.

thanks again for the comments, everyone.

Hey Jib, just an idea, but how about a cylinder for the drum shell, a flattened Sphereinder for the head, inserted into it, (you get the edge-curve where the head fits onto the shell), then make the hardware, the rim from a masked, and sized cylinder with the center hole enlarged to get the right thickness? Masking snd inflating would give you the details...

Geez, Jib, you just whipped it right out!
Nice job, and I heard the rim-shot echo through my head!
I hope you post the whole bandstand, eventually!

    Jibberish,

Your modeling skills here are intense, especially your ability to take suggestions and use them so effectively and quickly. You have a very professional attitude. Are you really only 14 ?
