Default The Davis Baby Learns to Walk

An idea from one of my all time favorite childhood movies.....It's Alive...1974(?)....I wasn't allowed to see it till around 78ish....right when my mother was preggers with my sister....and I was writing stories in school about the movie and the baby in the show...unfortunately I kept trying to get my mother to read the stories....and after several whackings on my backside I gave up showing mom anymore....She thought I was trying to say that my unborn sis was goign to turn otu like the Davis baby...LOL....the scary thing is my sis turned out worse...more of a female version of Chucky...

The baby is all z...one piece zsphere, head inclusive...the feet were/are a bit rough, so I hid them a bit...I will probably rework this theme several times before I am happy....but I thought I would share the results thus....the background crib is a photo image..thnx for looking..and have a great weekend.

Ha! Good comp job, Ron. The lighting works pretty damn well. It's Alive is a hell of a fun flick. Haven't seen it since 1980 or so...gotta go rent it again...

yeppers, MM...Ron got lazy and used some ready made dentures for It/him as a placeholder....will definitely be re-doing the model and It's fang-age. This was one of those "it's been on my mind projects and I can't sleep" type things....but now It's followed me into the daylight...LOL....

I loved the It's Alive movies (well, not so much the seqels, It lives Again and It's Alive 3, Island of the Alive)!

That baby rules. Great reference, Monstermaker!

Ron - I didn't know it would be possible to make the baby even more freaky than in the movie! Nice work.

Now who is going to Zbrush a CHUD?

Meats, C.H.U.D. is definitely on the list....muahahahahaha another kewl cult classic....though Bud the chud sequel didn't go over well with me personally.....sometimes makes you wonder what the producers are thinking when they do a project like that...millions spent on crappola...I watched the series Project Greenlight on the Bravo channel recently ...and they did a movie called Feast (release date is January last I checked). But the way the studios screw up a movie is obvious....they call for rewrite after rewrite and limit the budgets and hands of the director...I hope that Feast doesnt end up too butchered and stupid....I am so looking forward to it....That series was somewhat of an eye opener for me. And when the movie or a movie flops they use the director as a scapegoat it seems....when in fact it was the "suits" that caused the problem. This is a layman's observation obviously, but so so so many stinkers pop up out there and it just makes you wonder what in the sam hain they were thinking.....When the "suits" hire their teams and delegate them to create a movie from a story....let the people do their jobs and put out a good product.....anyhoo......lol now I need a paxil.....(ron calms down..lol)

    thnx for the feedback Meats.

    Hey Ron,
Great likeness, those were some crazy movies and C.H.U.D. was even crazier. Here is a link that I found for you, hope it helps.

Playing around with a newer baby head I worked on last night a bit during an It's Alive marathon with my son....we got thru part 1 and 2 and I could find 3 in my archives.....will have to look harder for him for that one I guess.....but he is another version of the Davis baby head....thnx for the links and replies...always appreciated...

modeled from a 3d sphere....a little play with lighting.....cant make the zlapse script work for me so I have to do it the old way....

    hope you like

I still plan on trying more ideas with this character....

MM, did you all ever name him? Like Savini named the creature, under the stairs in Creepshow, Fluffy....just curious...thnx

Well I composited my purpleish head onto MM's gracious image to get a feel of how things were shaping up before working on another body.....mine is more monkey looking me thinks....and is definitely not scary...so I will have to rework another head definitely......but here it is for the moment....greyscaled the head and rotated it a little to match up the positioning of the original picture.

    thnx for lookin
