Default Sideshow gotham nightmares, the joker

    Hello everybody,

First all I want to say How amazing is when you get the chance to be part of a So Awesome Creative Team, Kudos to Sideshow Collectibles ,
David Igo, Kat Sapene, Casey Love, Paul Komoda, Guillermo Barbiero , Anthony Mestas , Amilcar Aldana Fong , Tom Gilliland !!!!

Was a Truly Honor And a real challenge work Based in a Paul Komoda's beautiful and Crazy Design and translate that to a 3D figure!!!
Basically it started when Anthony sent me the Amazing Paul Komoda Joker Nightmare Concepts designs, With Anthony we started a first Adjustments pass to can translate the Paul foundation Bases design to a factible 3d piece .
Once it where setup , and trying to Without altering or distorting the Vision and the Soul of Paul´s art apply on those Draws, I chooses the very iconic elements / Ideas from he´s Concept Design to keep it in the Sculpt, Some of those I relocated Like the Red Hood from his back and place him on the front left leg to create the idea of Red Hood falling into the Acid tank , Jason Todd from his back to his right shoulder, other keep in the same place, but also removing the ones was not focus on Joker himself ( Catwoman, Penguin, Two Faces, ect ).
Also I re-designed the Joker full back trying to create a iconic Arkham Asylum representation using the Building Hospital as center of his back melted as part of his straitjacket, surrounded by a few of the more creepy Jokers comics representation ( Jim Lee, Frank Miller, Brian Bolland , Dave McKean, etc).
Also I crowned his shoulders with another representation about a Key moment in the Joker/ Batman story as was the Death in the Family comic, playing with a Mr Punch Puppet as the Evil Clown, broken a porcelain doll head dressed as Robin.
Other elements we added was the more classic comic onomatopoeia as part of the body and a quote extarted from the Killing Joke comic in the inner tails faces of his tuxedo.
Another important element as part of the story we added to the Base was the Gotham city building, pushing out the pipes and tubes for the Acid tank,as metaphor an analogy of the Darkness about what this corrupted and sick city can create.
Also many little Easter Eggs all around the figure ( UNKOWN 0801. etc )

The exclusive head was another contribution I did to this characters version, where I play with a creepy skin texture, teeth around eyes, crazy curly hair and lips with a red BAT shapes forms.
As well, for the Base heads holder, Anthony asked me for ideas and after a few suggestion I bring the Jack in the Box design and sculpt.
I want to also talk about the Big assistance support by Guillermo Barbiero give us in this project, He did the mayor of the basic models and elements that are all over the joker body and that I after adjusted, re-sculpted and finished to match over the Joker body forms. As well Guillermo sculpted the Full Tank base and the AMAZiNG Joker head of Komoda Version.
This Amazing project is the perfect companion for the Batman Nightmares sculpted and design by the Amazing
Raf Grassettiand Sideshow Collectibles development team
