    Default face sketch WIP

well, got my dose of zbrush tonight. this is a face sketch i did from my head. no reference which is probably a bad thing. this is a WIP so crits are very welcome.
next step will probably be to check it against reference and make corrections, then add details.
it still amazes me how fast this program can be.

    thanks.

    Very nice modeling!

Might you have gone a bit overboard Texturemastering the tip of the nose?

AdamT - yeah, i think i definetly went overboard on that nose. smoothed some of it out here but its still pretty rocky. thanks for the comments.

aminuts - thanks alot for your comments! there is so much to learn and i am having a ball in the process. people like you make this such a cool forum!

arepa300 - ask and you shall receive. here is my try at a texture. it uses a variant of Rolhion's material in the practical guide. such a cool material. i will try to get this into maya soon too.

Actually I like it all. Just more detail around the eyes, but this looks pretty good.

thanks jason. i like what you have been doing with zspheres and the toon heads. i was just looking at that. its hard to catch things in the forum sometimes.

yeah, i think the next step is gonna be that ulta high-freq detail around the eyes, nose and lips. then he should be done and he goes into maya with some blendshapes.

    thanks again.

Have you tried doublesided with fade off?

Am not sure about that seam but not sure how its mapped and if that's it or if it's an effect of doublesided and fade being on. And I can't experiment at the moment to let ya know my findings.

Check out the zscripts within projection master itself....I know your answer is in there...I just can't think of where to be more specific and point you to the right one quickly.

aminuts - yeah, tried it with fade off. no matter what i did i got it. finally just avoided the edges completely when ever i had double sided on and only used the simple brush. i think at one point i was using a smudge brush that overlapped the outside and that may have brought some color from the material in? dont know but i worked with it. thanks for the help.

    face_nappy.jpg he's gone nappy now:

still gotta tweak the hair shapes and such but it is late. must sleep.
