It was a good day. BB's lower half is pretty much done... just some basic stuff to add and tweak. Dropped some colour on him to bring him to life a bit more.

What I really love in your design is that the little hero cosplayer will be in focus.
If your design will be selected she or he will have a great day, and that's what's all about it, isn't it?
    Keep the good work coming!

Knacki, glad you like the design, and yes, the main reason I picked BB-8 was the ability to keep the kiddo front and center and not too blocked in. BB-8 is there ...just not over-powering.

This is awesome! The design is elegant and with rotating head and sounds it could be really enjoyable.
    Love it.

    Default Wip #6

Ready to render out my passes once I figure what to do with the background. I still need to stain him up a bit.

Default BB-8 Wip #8 Print friendly mesh

BB is pretty much done. The mesh has been merged, dynameshed, sliced and keyed for 3D printing. The head was hollowed with a hole to add a rotation mechanism. The bottom lower parts as well as the back arch have large keys and will need a few support structures inside to keep them tight. (small bands with shallow bolts) size and shape would depend on the kiddos exact wheelchair.

Default BB-8 Magic WheelChair Kurt Boutilier Final Entry

My final entry for the Magic Wheelchair contest... BB-8 and he was a lot of fun to work on. Great entries all around. One lucky kiddo will have an amazing day.

Great work! With an electronic control for the head rotation it could be impressive..

You did a good job of suggesting the character without trying to actually duplicate him. It's obvious what the costume is while still putting focus on the kiddo. Well done.

Aurick, glad you like the design. Putting the kiddo front and center was the plan right from the initial idea and sketch, as they are the true hero in their story.

All the artists came up with amazing works. I can' want to see the lucky kiddo in one of these designs.
