ZSphere image dump

I’ve always liked ZSpheres – fun to use and really quick!

I’ve got a limited amount of time I can spend in ZBrush and I’m not very fast at sculpting but I can knock something together from ZSpheres during a lunchtime at work.
Thought I’d post a bunch of them here :slight_smile:

I never thought I’d say wow to zspheres but WOW!!! Those flamingos are killer!

I agree - flamings became very cool illustration!

As for others - I like them , you got the gesture and framed it very cool. They pray for some sculpting ;)_

@owlhowelll Thanks for the comment
@nebular Thanks. Sadly, I often make them worse when I sculpt them :frowning:

Experiment and play.
Very refreshing:+1:

I love 'em all. You’ve turned ZSpheres into an art style. Let’s baptize it as Neo Spherism. :slight_smile:

These are excellent! Thanks for sharing!

awesome! awesome! really inspiring! :slight_smile:

…air inspiration in this world of monsters! :slight_smile:

Love the flamingos render, it’s cool to see different things on the fórum, great work!

how did you do the flamingo render ( erd post) love the flat colors on that one love your work.

Yea, flamings are exeptional. Develpot this tyle, maybe paint over a bit and it’s perfect for kids illustration etc

These are really interesting.

Have you turned the zspheres into actual geometry spheres for the rendering?

If you have can I ask your workflow? I wanted to 3D print a zspheres model a few months ago and couldn’t work out a method to bypass the adaptive skin and just turn the raw zspheres into multiple polygon based spheres.

This is really exceptional work. I would love to understand your workflow and how you are able to render the ZPheres.

You can with BPR
I think there are polugroups on for color and that’s all.

First things first… Thanks Pixologic, didn’t see that coming :wink:
I’ve never expected to see anything I created in the Top Row next to so much great work.

@booxy floozie
Thanks, been a fan of your work for a long time

@MetinSeven
Neo Spherism? Ok, I can live with that!

@Piggyson, @ashraful_mobin, @Frenchy Pilou, @nacho riesco
Thanks for the kind words

@Stephon972
Ta. As far as I can remember I just used a Flat Color shader and then tweaked the colours in PS.

@AristotlesLantern
Sorry, can’t really help with that. I haven’t created any actual geometry, just rendered the ZSpheres

@Thom_R and @nebular
That’s right. The workflow (such as it is) is to do a BPR render with shadows and (sometimes) AO.
Then I usually just screengrab the viewport and paste it into PS and mess about with the image there.
The only render settings I change are for the BPR shadows.
I find that if you don’t change VDepth and LDepth to a negative value then the shadows don’t render correctly.
