This is a personal project, I came up with the concept combining my love of history and creature design. It's currently in the Cub Brush Art War 2 contest.

Final Polycount: ~82k (including hair cards)
Process:

  • Original high poly model pulled up from ZSpheres in ZBrush
  • Some re-topology done with Zremesher
  • Small hard surface pieces, retopology and UVing done in Maya
  • Hair cards created in photoshop (not the best method but eh it worked) placed with Hair Grabber 2
  • Texturing Substance Painter
  • Character posed using junk rig from Mixamo and all other tweaks in Maya
  • Rendering Marmoset Toolbag 3
