Art dump | Sketchbook | WIPs

It’s about time I shared some of my personal work. Some finished, abandoned or “I’ll get back to it”. None of this would’ve been possible without Zbrush. I love it so much.

Infected Chimp I've been using this guy for RnD with hair systems, shaders and blended displacement tech. Plus I love Weta apes.

Inali
Alien soldier Inali | kit-bashing a few elements I had lying around. GOTG influence for the female head. The sculpt is quite loose in parts, it’s all in the lighting.

Phibian Look Development

Rendered some shader variants of Phibian and blended the layers in Photoshop using masks.
Influences: poisonous snakes and frogs.

Still very much a WIP.

Speed sculpts

Quick portrait sculpts for those days when I’m time poor. It helps to go all the way to render instead of ending up as a ztool doodle.

Very nice work here.

Hey thanks Brett :+1:

rawhead rex

Rawhead Rex | mild redesign of an 80s horror movie monster. Sporting a fantastic Michael Bolton haircut. I love Zbrush’s fibremesh, so easy to layout monster hair.

Parasitic Grandads

Photobashing with 3d fun. Using daguerreotypes as a base is a quick way to get a character out the door.

Military Masks

Military mask variants from an old r&d project. These guys are about 4yrs old. Helmets blocked out in ZBrush then topologized where needed. Jacket details using cloth alphas.

Titans.

Fairly loose concepts of titans from a few years back. I used insertmulit mesh to quickly block out them out.

a few more pics.

Fury-menKit-bashing some 3d elements for a MadMax inspired world. With loose paint-overs in Photoshop. I could see these guys in a Thunderdome meets RAGE environment.

Creature PeepersExploring alien/creature eye types. Fairly quick sculpts in Zbrushand polypaint for texturing. I used radial symmetry for tri and quad shaped eyes.

Superb works… Well deserved TR!

Wow, extremely creative and delicately executed, so exciting :+1:

Lovely work! Especially loving the alien eye concepts!

again thanks for all the comments. really appreciate it.

Space Marine
Zbrush was used at almost every step, from blocking out Armour geo before re-topology
to generating guide curves for hair.

Retro design with definite nods towards Blizzards Terran. Great hard-surface and organic practice.

looks good to me

See you on the TR :):+1::wink:

After watching LOTR again I found myself sculpting some goblin rolls.

Using a base mesh i created three variants fairly quickly. Fibre-mesh for guide curves, they’re really just for the general direction of the hair. Curls, scraggle and clumping will be done in Maya.
