    Default The Dasa

Dasa is an ancient Vedic word that describes a once benevolent king that has turned from the righteous teachings of Vishnu, and now walks a darker path. This is that changed king imagined in ZBrush. Because of his fall from grace he was punished Siva. His punishment being the cleft running the length of his body that destroyed his chakras. And his hands and feet are also clefted, ensuringthat all he touches will turn to ruin.

    Default Phantasma

On this piece I was trying to imagine a ghost that was a mix of architectural and ectoplasmic. Something that might be attached to a building and appear to just be a fixture until you turn your back and it detaches and comes for your soul. I chose the Baroque period as influence. I find that period of architecture to be especially creepy.

Very good work. I also visited your 'The Herald' page here.
I always prefer it when artworks are more than a pleasing surface.

Hope to see more when more will be ready to show.

    @ KorayAtes- Thank you sir!

@ Erik Heyninck- Thanks for checking my old thread. I try to do a little bit of visual storytelling in my pieces. I'm glad you see the story in their faces.

@ MattBerg- Thanks man, I think we are fans of the same fantasy genre. Tokusatsu forever!

    @ expiring sun. Much appreciated

@ zerojsart. Thanks. I got the idea from the ghosts on Super Mario 3 that would chase you when you turned your back on them, but stop when you faced them. Just tried to make it scarier.

Here's a piece I did for Gio Nakpil's Mastering Organic Modeling class for Mold3D.

This is my concept for a Vampire Bat Dragon. I wanted to try and deviate from the traditional dragon designs that we all know and love and do something a little more bestial. The physiology is pretty close to the Vampire Bat, although I did add a lot more muscle structure to the wings and body to give it more strength and accuracy during flight. This one is not really meant to be ridden, more like a beast you send out ahead of the armada to root out the enemy. Most likely I will be doing another version soon that will also feature the rider.

Sculpted in ZBrush rendered in Keyshot, finished off in PS.

This is an older Vampire design of mine. With this one I included features from many different animals. The strong confident stance of the Silverback Gorilla, the snub nose of the Great White Shark, and the grotesque nose of the Leaf-Nosed Bat. This flightless Vampire hunts in packs on the ground, routing the prey so that it can easily be swooped down upon by the winged Vampires.

I'm slowly building my own world of blood suckers and there will definitely be more of these to come.

Sculpted, Polypainted, and fibermesh all in ZBrush. Composited in PS.

This is a creature I call the Crab Samurai. The shell armor is a mix of Samurai and Edo period Japanese firefighter. I was very influenced by the creatures from the old Guyver live-action films, the monsters of Kamen Rider and the Tokusatsu Japanese fantasy genre in general. This was one of my first full-body characters ever and was a huge learning experience for me. This was sculpted and polypainted in ZBrush and composited in PS.
