Need to flatten the bottoms of some shoes

This has been a pain in my side since starting this project. I can not figure out how to flatten the bottom of some shoes I made, the obj is finalized so it’s not like I can go and cut and slice things up as that would change the geometry forcing me to re do days and days of work so I’m reaching out for some advice as to how to make the bottoms of the current mesh flat.

I tried the flatten brush but at full strength it’s too much, at a lesser strength the effect is not even at all…

Since this is a pair of shoes, that’s been finalized, they are of course built to be on a character so it’s not like I can do a symmetry X delete and flatten the singular shoe and then mirror and weld, again that would put me back to square 2 with getting them set up again for the character they are for.

So any tips, tutorials or advice as to how to reach my goal?
