Thanks for sharing your workflow. Iv got MD4 recently, but haven't used it on any projects yet. I found that Im better off importing the low poly Avatar while designing, then do a basic simulation, then bring in the much higher res model, and then do a complete simulation, that way you don't get the low poly forms showing through the cloth in which you have to spend ages sculpting out.
I've been thinking I want to purchase this software.
Any advise?
What process do you use to get your final pose with the clothes and character once the clothes are done in a T-pose?
Are you doing all that in ZBrush or does MD help with that?
Do they have an upgrade path from one version to the next or do you have to buy a new full license each time?
hello Danny, that's true. I normally do import high reference model before final simulating. But I think I forgot it in this pants
hello Frank, you can change final pose in MD and cloth will follow the pose. For me, I make the basic shape of cloth in MD and then export to Zbrush then retopo then change pose to T-pose.
I will keep upload the process video here or youtube.
the upgrade is free if you buy license once.
Thank you.

Im yet to make anything good, but have got a basic workflow down from the test iv done. I use a combination of Zbrush, Modo, and MD. I have the following workflow.
1: Build character in a A pose. Produce a low poly version, either with Zremehser, or Retopology.
2: Rig in Modo, Pose it and store the pose in a animation from Base A pose to new Pose. Bake down animation, export FBX file.
3: send posed model back to Zbrush using GoZ.
4: Import FBX file into MD4 and create the clothes. Head into animation tab in MD4 and simulate. The clothes with drape over animated character.
5: Head back into simulation screen in MD4, import the high res posed model exported from Zbrush, then simulate the final drape to get clean results.
6: Export geometry from MD and bring into Zbrush, clean up and your done.
For animation, export the MDD file from MD4 apply it in modo. Hope I wasnt hijacking your thread ajkjk
Nice. I feel like there's too much fabric in the knee area. Usually in a suit, the back of the knee isn't that puffy. Especially in women's wear. That's just my opinion though. Nice work.
Its great that you showed this process, Marvellous Designer is great, but it only gets you part of the way with realistic wrinkles, you really do have to get in there sometimes and push the realism a little further,
WOW!, this looks fantastic. I really want to get into a MD workflow. At 24:20 in Zbrush you add stitches to the shirt. That went completely over my head how you got those in there. Can I ask how you did that?
thanks for words, blckgold! I will keep that it mind.
Leonona, I will share some stitch brushes for you.
