nooby question about inserting with symmetry

So I’m trying to create my first basic human model and in some of the reference videos Im watching, for shoulders they insert 2 spheres simultaneously and are able to manipulate those both spheres are at once. I created my basic torso with the insert button in the subtools to add spheres but how do you add two at once that are effected by symmetry?

sorry shouldve clarified this but not using zsketch spheres. I wanna know how to do it with just the normal inserted spheres like in the subtool menu. Im not sure if in the video thats where it is but he creates the torso with 3 inserted spheres, then adds 2 more spheres simultaneously and theyre affected by symmetry.

in this video at about 9:00 he makes the 2 spheres im talking about simultaneously. I know zspheres is an option but I also wanna know how to do it this way.

Hi, I didn’t watch the video you pointed out. ( It could be old, I don’t feel as though I need to, to become more skilled in that)… You haven’t experimented and read enough. There are many times a model can be created a few different ways. After creation, extensive rework may be necessary in some instances depending on the desired output. By starting with an ZSphere armature(the first inserted link), you’ll have a skeletal ‘rig’ built which you can later bind your mesh to to pose.
Have fun.

HI Jimmy. He used an insert mesh brush, first he inserted a Sphere and then a cylinder…with the symmetry activated , of course…

Doug is right, you can get there with some other techniques, or Zspheres but blocking the structure with basic shapes is as good way to start.
Stan Prokopenko made a very cool video about Mannequinization , it’s focused on drawing but the concept can apply to 3D : https://youtu.be/nRHfcqjbPq8

Personally I just use the SnakeHook brush since I am using dynamesh (or even Zremesher) and I kind of know the shapes I want already. but zspheres or “blocking shapes mannequinization” are good.
Since this is the Zscripting forum I will mention that I made a little Zscript for the transpose line that converts it into a basic Qcube, Qcylinder or sphere. the cylinder and cube will have the length and orientation of the transpose line and the width of your selected brush size, you can also control the taper with the focal shift slider… , it just saves you the extra work of selecting the right insertmesh, position the transpose line to adjust the shape as you want… so it’s faster
I put it together with some other little zscripts …I will share it when I have the time to finish it.
