Very cool to see the process in action through the GIF Nice 3D to 2D example!

@Sudhan: I'm always very happy to see 3D to 2D stuff. A lot of pople underestimate this possibility of 2D creation. Then please, continue and always feel free to sahre your work, including breakdown!

    Default Trumpus Shorticus

Often found obliviously grazing the meadows by the cliff. Mostly harmless.

I put together this critter mostly to test out a custom version of the flat sketch material and just to see how much I can go toward a more "toon"-ish style.
In this case I painted in the shadows/lights manually, but using a shadow/light pass from ZBrush and color correcting them a bit would work just the same and save a fair amount of time. Haha, so what's my excuse? I simply felt like working my brain a bit

No matter, that's about it for this post!

Very interesting process, did you do other "renders" like this one?

@Totyo Thanks Thomas! Not at this moment. I'll certainly share more experiments in this direction as I make them,

    Default Journal entry #30 //

It took me a few moments to realize that those things weren't eyes. It is still eerie though, every time I come across a group of these creatures.

Can't neglect sharing this here now, can I? Haha, gonna try making a series of creatures recorded as mock journal entries. Not sure how that'll turn out but it'll be fun

    Default "What is it now?"

If I had a vice it'd be this, making grumpy old men. It is however, very satisfying

Experimenting with re-purposing old sculpts into something else. Part as a challenge to see if I can make it indistinguishable enough and part as a challenge to see how much time I can save with this workflow.
