Another sculpt to materialization. Leonardo self portrait bas-relief. My first bas-relief.
First i sketched 3d bust of Leonardo based on his red chalk self portrait, later i grab the depth map, embossed on plane and sculpted over the referens
This is a very nice sculpt!
The only criticism I have is that the details of the beard distract a viewer’s attention from the face. If you look at the original drawing, you could see that the beard was done in vague, almost invisible and disappearing strokes.
And the symmetry always kills the sculpt as you certainly knowJ
