Zbrush Weapon Tutorial

Hi

As promised the first part of another hard surface model made in zbrush 4r6. The weapon that i will be modeling , is the ACR rifle. In this project i will be using Shadowbox allot , in combination with masking and extracting. This is not a time-lapse video.

Of course i have links to several videos that explain shadowbox as well as some of the shortcuts i used. This video contains voice commentary , just like the hard-surface tutorial. For you guys that are waiting for the final video of the hard surface tutorial , that is also in the works.

Thanks, Morgaine

Morgaine, from what I’ve seen in your obj example I make a conclusion that you used a simple poly modeling with extruding/beveling and inseting. But what if you had no sufficient topology (what if you modeled it with a shodow box and dynamesh), you could not do it the same way you did with proper topology.

Does anybody know how to deal with this kind of things?

There are many paths to the goal, we have better ZBrushers as me, to explain it.
A ZBScreen to start, create a textures in ZBrush and Photoshop, finished Alphas and UV’s or the new ZModeler, even better the fantastic ZClassroom videos.

I would ask the questions in the “And-Troubleshooting Forum” because you will certainly better helped, -this is the thread of Chofni_Knol here.
