Sculpting optic blasts / particle beams/ energy waves / thunder bolts

Hi,

I’ve searched high and low for a tutorial on how to accomplish this in Zbrush but the best I can find is using particles in Zbrush and it doesn’t come out how I want. I want to sculpt in geometry particle blasts and optic blasts so that the model can be 3d printed.

I’m talking about things like Thor’s Lightning, Superman’s Heat Vision, etc. Can anybody offer and suggestions / advice on how to accomplish this?

Thanks!

for thor i would use curve tube brush with stroke size curve mod, and small brush sizes for lighting sculpts

just append a new sphere subtool or duplicate the hammer without sub divisions, and draw long uniform line for lighting, and start messing with the curve to get this weavy curves of lightning.

Don’t use too small brush size like 6 or less, because you still can use zremesh freezing borders and subdiv this geometry, then smooth later.
