MASTERPIECE. Well deserved first prize.
Which render engine and software? Some infos?

Awesome work… Great lighting…

Awesome! Congratulations! What was the goal of the contest? Did you model the virus as well? I saw on cgsociety web that a team was involved in this project. Do you mind sharing how large and what were the team members responsibilities? :+1:

Thank you friends!

All small elements exept the “body” was taken from the HIV Model generated with CellPACK. (HIVBloodSerum_1.2 autoPACK). Body object modelled with ZBrush 4.
Body object and CellPACK elements detailed and textured in ZBrush 4, using decimation master to optimize the mesh and UV master for unwarping.
Rendered in VRay SSS2, 3D Max 2013 64Bit
Post done with After Effect and Photoshop.

This project done totaly by myself, but there were consultations with Thomas Direct Studios team.

Thanks for the info! Good luck with your future endeavors! You’ve got yourself a fan

Thank you =)
P.S. Strong Portfolio!

Absolutely lovely! I like these images a lot.

Would you please tell us more about your scene/lighting/rendering/post work for these images? The lighting, colors, composition, materials, depth-of-field are all spectacular.

I thought it was kind of a shame that this contest wasn’t presented better at CGS. It wasn’t really listed on their main “Contest” link, the forum thread for it was a little lackluster, and the autoPack website for the challenge wasn’t really maintained. I, myself, didn’t find the challenge until it was too late to enter.

I’m glad that you found out about it, however, because this work is amazing. Congratulations!

These are amazing! Beautifully designed and rendered.
Would love to see how you made these.

Congrats!

Thank you all for the comments! I’m so glad that you like it!

Many days I tried to find a composition solution, playing with the model. All
attempts were not interesting and I decided to go with the other side.
I decided that it is necessary to try to express the nature of the HIV not only in colour or render, but also in the form.
I started drawing, began searching the spirit of HIV on the paper.

After I found the shape on the paper I have made it in Z-Brush.
