ZBrush Artist Spotlight with Ben Selwy ''Queen of the Stone Age''

Ben Selwy made headlines this past November when he showed his techniques for using real wood to create 3D prints from ZBrush. People were inspired seeing this new medium for 3D printing – but beyond that they also loved his sculpts. Ben has a very distinct style, with a great eye for the female form.

Today we are excited to be able to bring you an Artist Spotlight with Ben Selwy. You will find that there are three time-lapse videos showing his ZBrush techniques for posing the figure as well as sculpting believable clothing and accessories. As an extra bonus, there is also a PDF for you to download with (extremely) high resolution images that go into greater detail about his interface layout, brush settings and much more. There’s even a section that explains his techniques for lighting and rendering in ZBrush before finally compositing the passes in Photoshop.

We hope that you will find this Artist Spotlight to be both helpful and inspirational! Please be sure to reply to this thread with any comments or feedback that you might have for Ben. He has put a lot of effort into preparing this for you, and would be happy to answer your questions.

Happy ZBrushing!
