these are so goooooooooooood:sunglasses: there should be 3d versions of these films!:+1:

tnx john

Love them, really nice work. This would be a great exercise for me too as I’d really like to be able to create stylized characters like this to rig and animate (that’s my job but I love to model in ZBrush too) but I know it would be very hard work to get them this clean and appealing. Going to study your videos and see if I can learn something.

Do you use a lot of reference for them, like grabbing frames from different angles and that kind of thing?

Cheers,
Brian

tnx man , yeah i use a lot of reference but its hard to translate to 3d sometimes with the deformed heads in different emotions and angles

Wow… these are awesome ! Big thumbs up for Jafar… you nailed the expression quite perfectly.

Got a 3 years old daughter… so Disney’s characters are quite part of my world these days…

More !

Wow…nice work

Indeed, these new ones are really great, can definitely see progress with them.

Good to know you use a lot of reference (kind of a relief to be honest LOL). I think it’s difficult in general to translate 2d to 3d while keeping the essential details and making it look appealing. I think you have a great handle on it though. Inspiring stuff and the videos are very interesting, thanks for posting them.

Cheers,
Brian

these are great!

Very nice 3D interpretations! :+1:

Hey can I bother you with one more question if it’s OK.

In the Alladin video at about 1 minute in you take a cylinder primitive and somehow end up with a semi-circular part with thickness that you use for his head gear (the part going down to his shoulders). How did you do that? I see you deleting some polys but it’s too fast to figure out how you make it a closed mesh again.

Cheers,
Brian

tnx guys,

Horganovski: What i did there is hide the top , bottom and front then select the still visible mesh and use the extract function without any smoothing

These are sooo good! Love em!

These are awesome!! I think this deserves top row.
Mr. Administrator, what do you think?

Is there a way you could slow down the timelapse slightly… so we can see what you’re doing? It would be cool to learn from these sculpts…

Love your work and how you’re translating these characters. Keep it up.

Thanks

Many thanks, great tip and gives nice clean shapes. Note to self - use ZBrush primitives more.

I’d add a vote too for longer/slower screen cap videos if possible, but they are already great as is, I find myself using the playback controls here to slow them down a bit as they do flash by pretty quick otherwise.

Cheers,
Brian

tnx guys
to those who want to watch the slowed down videos, most of my sessions are still available on livestream for replay

Love the style and how you managed to get the cartoon style in to 3D so well
Looking forward to what you decide to make next
