New Sculpts Everyday

This is my first post at this forum so Hi everyone im lukas from poland and in the future i want to be a 3d graphics. It is my last year in school so i wanted to start something for serious. This threat will be a motivation to me to sculpt everyday.

So this is my sculpts

First: http://p3d.in/djcat It is one of first sculptures and my best sculpture. I sculpted it from very good basemesh of human. It took me about 2 weeks to done it.

Second: http://p3d.in/ucMPK It is sculpt from yesterday and its done from sphere. It was only a training so i dont do it from references and i dont tried to make it anatomically correct.


I will be glad for any kind of assistance and constructive criticism.

Sound base structures lacking detail and if you're not going for photorealism then try to convey the form and mass with movement (Hellenistic statues - forum user michalis specializes in the latter - check out his thread).

I wanna do a photorealistic sculpts but i dont know what to learn (besides of anatomy).
So if you have any kind of trainig that will help me with that then you can pm me or just reply in this thread.

Apart from eyes and hands you need decent hardware, preferably 2 GPUs and a decent amount of RAM. ZBrush is more for photo-realistic sketches because it can handle more information. You can achieve a degree of photo-realism with Sculptris but you'd still need decent gear - otherwise it takes a lot of patience. Hardware and software is no substitute for imagination, perception and manual abilities so develop your own style - it doesn't have to be 100% photo-real. Apart from that Sculptris feels more akin to traditional sculpture than drawing in 3D space and it's more of an artist's tool in my own opinion - despite the fact that ZBrush is industry's tool of choice (you can automate certain things with Zbrush, with Sculptris you're responsible for every stroke - part of the challenge).

I know that hardware is very important but on my level i dont need something amazing. After summer break i will have 4000-6000 pln Can i buy something good for sculpting and rendering for this money ?
And do i need photorealistic sculpts for game industry ?

I don't know because my own computer is old, good ones at PC World start at 1200 GBP but PC World is a bit of a scam. I don't think you need photo-realistic art for game industry just eye-candy, interesting and technically top-notch (correct implementation of UVs for instance).
