Sculptris Challenge - The Dragon

I think Spork and anthonydraco had a good idea, plus we're long overdue for a challenge in here.
So here's it is.
Sculptris Challenge - The Dragon.
All entries should at least contain some Sculptris work, sculpting, painting whatever. All models should be Original, no Daz stuff or whatever. They can be Retopo'd ... and Rendered in any software, but post your Sculptris screencaps - mid work, so we can see how you use Sculptris !! We'll probably have a Halloween Challenge so lets make the deadline October 1st ....

How do you do the wing membrane? I'm stuck.

And I could use a little tips on how to mold the object into a long trunk. I manage, but always struggle with it. You know, how do you pull model long and make it point like when you try to make a snake in kindergarten?

First, move the Detail Slider a bit to the right, then pick the Grab tool and uncheck the limits dot. Use that to make snake tails and fingers.

What about the wing membrane? I always struggle pulling out a straight, thing flap.

Reached the point where sculptris stops to make fun. Will goZ to zBrush now.






Doing wings is a bit tricky. Start with main Bone. Paint with "DRAW" and unchecked clay the wings first part. Don't start too thin. Drag it out. Watch geometry all the time. Correct holes and artefacts with "reduce brush". Use "Flatten" for ...flattening
"Pinch" for nice endings. And practise, practise, practise for good results.

Here is my WIP dragon. The side looks decent enough for an initial start. Too bad the front looks like a chicken. sigh.

Nice! Did you use the scale brush or your own custom brush?
Besides using UV's and alphas, I never did figure out a good way to do scales. What was your approach?

In zBrush use Lightbox -> "Scales" Folder there are several brushes.
I used the Lizard brush
UV's ? To be honest I don't know.
I just plan to do some polypainting. & render in zBrush.
Basemesh is still quite highpoly. Tried QRemesher first time.
