    Thanks RorrKonn

Here's a tip on changing material color for rendering.
Go to Color Palette change Main Color to Red 200 / Green 125 / Blue 62 and change Secondary Color to Red 232 / Green 167 / Blue 93
Then select your material and do a best render.
In this image the material I used is a free one here somewhere at ZBrush Central called RustedIronPC
EDIT: Note once you set this up in ZBrush you can go to File > Save As a ZBrush Project That way you can go through your materials to see what what they look like and use then let's say you find another set of colors you like go and save it as a ZBrush project.

For beginners (and those that might not know) I found a very detailed youtube video on using shadowbox - found some nice tips in the video.

A few tidbits on color. Lets say you draw on paper using Faber-Castell penciels and you used only a dozen colors from the set and these colors are the colors you want to paint in Zbrush with or polypaint in ZBrush with.
Again being ZBrush there are many ways to get to the colors - color palette. What would some of those ways be? What are your best ways to use free resources of color swatches?
At the following link are swatches set (and yes there is a chart of the colors) but at this link the Suspiria-Ru has taken the time to name each color the names of the pencils which should make it easier to match the pencils you used to a digital closeness. (plus he has a few more sets)

and here DeviantNep has this skin tone set

Is there a way to load these color swatches into Zbrush so you could eye drop them and continue poly painting?

    Thanks for the color swatches.

    ajkjk - Thanks

sean_rodrigues - In Zbrush 3.21 there where two ways to use them
    1. paste the color swatch or swatches onto a file in (any solid color you like the paste in the color swatch in a graphics program - Photoshop, gimp, etc)
bring that into zbrush as a texture and fill the layer with the texture and use the picker to pick a color on the canvas and paint
    2. with a model pick it up with Projection Master paint then drop back onto canvas turn pick up with Projection Master paint using the color picker to
    select the color.

Now having said that these two ways don't seem to work for me in ZBrush 4r4 p2 - not sure why. In fact I can't get the color picker to come up or work
in this version. If it does it does not work like it did in the earlier version.

I am (and hoping some others can figure out a workflow) working on trying to figure out a workflow with the color picker.

The only other way is to use GoZ to Photoshop or some other graphics program. But that doesn't help when wanting to paint
in ZBrush on the canvas (painting in 2.5d on the canvas). However, in ZBrush 4r4 p2 GoZ does not show up in the plugins palette but the files are in the zdata > zplugs folder.

So, without GoZ is to save uv maps and paint them in a graphics program then import them back into ZBrush.

    UPDATE
One way to use the color swatches in ZBrush is to create texture with the color swatch pasted in and save and bring that texture into Zbrush and
fill the canvas from texture the follow the following steps
    Pixol Sampling:
Another way of selecting colors permits you to easily match colors that already exist on the screen:

    1. Click and hold the mouse button on either the main or secondary color swatch.
    2. Drag the mouse anywhere on the screen, until it is over the color you want to choose.
    3. Release the mouse button to choose that color.

    Hya Spaceman!

I found a great way of using these, and its very simple.
What I thought to do first was use spotlight to project them on to an object and that failed miserably, spotlight made all sorts of horrid artifacts.
So what I did instead was just used the color picker to grab them out of spotlight directly, it works flawlessly.
The best part is that in spotlight its possible to have ALL of them available at once.

    Here is the work flow:

    1. Dock your Texture Menu (the one from the top, not the one on the left). (this makes life easier)
    2. Import the swatch image(s) you want to use.
    3. Click once on the icon for that image.
    4. Click the Add To SpotLight Button.
    5. Hit the letter Z on your keyboard to turn on SpotLight, your image should now be visible.
    6. In the ColorPicker down on the left side of the ZBrush window; Click, Hold and Drag out onto the color you want in the Swatch image being displayed by SpotLight.
    7. Hit Shift and the Z key to get out of SpotLight, hide the swatch image and begin painting and/or sculpting.
    8. Yell Eureka!

Thanks for these pallets by the way, they are very nice.

    Cheers!
