    Default New actualization!!!!

Hi as we dont have any new in the aniversary of the release of sculptris 6, i have done some DIY modding...have made a change of color of the interface for it to look more like the first releases...i'm joking?...mmmm...yes.
more seriously, it would be nice to have the oportunity of developing plugins and modifications (as in blender or gimp) , it would give more life to the comunity news.

Yeah it would be too nice to be true !
I think Alpha 6 is what we'll ever get.
If all that is posted here by Aurik is true

then something doesn't quite add up. It's too much time from the last update even for a one man job.
Dr. Petter not working on zbrush.....then what is his job right now? Cleaning pixo's rooms?

Sculptris might have been a little too good as is. I've been lazy lately, but using Sculptris as a "tool" rather than my only 3d app, I was able to create some pretty cool stuff. Being able to Paint straight to Bump is the bomb, and can give you almost Zbrush quality, depending on your poly-count and your UV's. Most new users try to do it all in Sculpt-mode, using way to high polycount when most of the finer details can be painted on. Further, while you can't paint external-symmetry UV's, you CAN paint half a model, which is the same result. If you assign materials to sections in Wings3D, then do a quick Import/Export from Blender, Blender will split the materials into seperate objects that can be hidden for easy masking in Sculptris. Often times the model I paint in Sculptris is not the model the texture is intended for, but a copy broken into chunks for easy painting, but as long as the UV's are the same .....

Honestly, with the exception of exporting a nice Spec-map, AO, and maybe a few other starter shapes, Sculptris is fine as is. I would like to see some sort of script-able interface and maybe some sort of custom buttons, so users can build custom plugins.

Default the end of propietary solutions?

i think that very esily some sculptris functions could be improved: for example the rendering ones..file management of the materials in a project, capability of using sculptris as a real time renderer like keyshot, and other on modelling for example automatic functions for abstract or fractal modelling....but going more in deep...what we can see is that a propietary way of doing freeware is not capable to figth whith the huge amount of creatibity that opensource soft have been having lately...blender gives you 2 or 3 new surprises each 3 months , it gives it a lot of atention from the users...i think that from a propietary aproach has became impossible to reach such amount of creativity ( i dont talk about the quality of course) but i think that is a reality nowadays...sounds like a joke, but maybe we are leaving the end of propietary solutions...
