my mistake was that I thought when I have 64bit Win 7 that I need to install the C++ x64
but your tool seems to be in 32 bit and the microsoft c++ x64 is not compatible to that
after additionaly installing the c++ x86 version it works just fine



thank you for this tool wich helps a lot for softsurface work in zbrush to be used in xsi

Hi again Jo ,

Yes that is correct. The executables are 32-bit but if you use Softimage x64 you load the GoZ.64.dll, so you need both

Redistributable Packages x86 and x64.

I notice you edited the first post some time ago. Its a long thread and kinda hard to figure out whether it was a simple edit or maybe a plugin update.

I am still working with GoZ and whenever I launch GoZ from ZBrush, and XSI IS open, another instance of XSI still launches... I also checked the .txt file that goes with the object, and there is only one object listed... is there a way to fix this...?

Hi, having a bit of a problem getting this plugin to work with SoftImage2012
I go through the steps in the PDF no problem, but at set 5.2 I get a error saying that an error has occurred & I need administrator permission, Restart ZBrush as Administrator, but I most definitely am running as administrator.
I then tried the manual install as described if an error occurred. This part I am not sure with, I try and drag the GoZ.xsiaddon file onto the SoftImage View port but it won't let me. So this view port is just straight into the UI yes?

- About Manual Installation there are some additional infos in Post #63 .

- When an update is ready I will make sure to clarify, so there will be no confusion.

- HaloAnimator how it is going so far... Have you try reinstallation?
This is another possibility to fix the problem.

Oh! Yes this would be really handy, import more so. My applink to 3D Coat can import hard edges, but I think this is only possible because 3D Coat supports .fbx. So what is really needed is .fbx support in ZBrush, perhaps.

Specified Export Tamplate can not be Found.
File export canceled.

Exporting from Softimage 7.01 via GoZ to ZBrush 4R4 works fine.

Any suggestion to fix this ?

Hi hirnlaich and Bernard ,

ZBrush 4R4 update creates new installation folder structure, so you need to add manualy the GoZ Softimage Complete Binary.GoZ Template file to the ExportTamplates folder of your ZBrush Application root folder\ZStartup.

(example Path: C:\Program Files (x86)\Pixologic\ZBrush 4R4\ZStartup\ExportTamplates)

You can find the GoZ Softimage Complete Binary.GoZ in your GoZ For Softimage.zip file in the ExportTamplates folder.

I knew it was a path problem, I'v tryed different issues in the C:\Users\Public\Documents\ZBrushData\ZStartup\Expo rtTamplates but didn't worked

but this don´t work for me.

In ZBrush 4r4 I got licenses warnings, Softimage bla, bla License is not running...., Softimage bla, bla License is not running....

After a few tries I deleted all GoZ Softimage files and folders, and tried to install it again like in the instructions.pdf on page 1. I got the same warning messages again.

So I do my exports from Z4r4 the old way. Importing from XSI ist fine.
