Hey thereWhat 3D program are you using to render the character with the normal map? If its 3dsmax you might need to change the swizzle to X+Y-Z+ or X-Y-Z+ ( I dont remember which one it was, because I havent baked normal maps in a while...=/). Also you might need to remove the smoothing group. I hope this helps.
