    Default Samuel's Creature Design WIP

It's been a while since I posted anything on here, I've been super busy.. Super busy learning Zbrush that is!! I've been taking Cesar Dacol jr.'s Master class in Creature design and here is what I've accomplished so far.
first we experimented with shapes and forms, I chose this design from many.
from the silhouette I made a few tweaks, notably the feet and wings.
then added some underlying skeletal and muscular form.
I also made a few experiment sheets of possible faces, I chose #28.
Futher changes were made to the face afterwards.
after the first Crit session I had made some changes to posture, wing structure and some more musculature.
Next came compression wrinkles, skin directionality and surface texturing.
Polypainting was a treat, I decided to go with natural greens and bright colours as seen in plumage of birds, instead of dark sinister colours as is all the rage.
thus changing the whole feel of the character into being something somewhat more of a wild creature than a demon of the darkness.

I hope you've enjoyed my WIP of a creature. please let me know your thoughts.

really nice creature design, I think you really learned a lot from it, I totally see that you took the class with Cesat, it is great that you have achieved such a great result!
That creature is really nice, love that on the lowest subdivision you still see the whole detail of the model, that is a huge progess man! The composite turned out great aswell, definently keep up the great work and have fun sculpting!
    Cheers,

thanks @nitrox721 it is a really neat and efficient work-flow for sure. I use to find myself stuck on one area just wasting time getting no where, the work-flow promotes forward momentum, get a lot more done and results too boot.

Wow Sam, this thing is turning out wicked!!
One suggestion tho, maybe in the pincer/claws a bit more volume for the front view.
    But its really looking good!

    Default WIP dragon.

I searched for ages, but couldn't find a background I liked for rendering the insect on. So I taught myself how to make a rock looking thing, and just set him to playing around on that, I need some practise with BPR and ligjt caps it would seem.once Mister bug man was out of the way, it was time to move onto Mister Dragon guy! here is his head. I'm doing it in bite size pieces. he has a body, its just not very good yet.

Default Beginning Character Design With Danny Williams.

Cesars class is nearly over but all is not lost, as I started the Character Design course with Danny Williams last week, I got a late start as I was busy Designing creatures.

A different day a different workflow, I thought I'd start off with concept sketches, as I recently got an intous5 I thought I'd try it out for a bit of experience. FUN!!

So here are my concept sketches. enjoy.

    Default More Dragon

Tried my hand at some Poly painting. Rainbow Dragon. I was inspired by the vibrant colours of chameleons and iguanas. thinking a dragon doesn't need to be grey or green or black. so I made all colours still a WIP next comes pose and render.
