    Default My first Creation

Hi guys, i'm new to zbrush. I started using it 2 days ago and find it fantastic! Here is my first creation! A brachio. Tips on how to improve the sculpt are welcome! Also i want to texture it and make it realistic but don't have a idea how to do this! Cheers

Looks cool man! Did you use zspheres for the base model, or did you make the mesh in another program and port it over? I'm pretty new to zbrush too (started last week) :P

I've noticed, for the most part, that quite a few people look and don't give feedback. I wish that weren't the case but it is what it is.

    Proportionally speaking, it's fairly close.

Something I noticed you could adjust right off the bat:
    1) Define the forms you've blocked in a bit more. Essentially, try to add some more muscle detail

You've chopped off the feet in the render and tbh, the sculpting on the head is a bit too small to give any advice on. If you post a few more renders, I can try to give you some better advice. Keep working on it though man. Zbrush isn't exactly easy but you'll get better the more you practice at it.

Weekends seem to be a particularly bad time to look for feedback. It's almost as if all the cg/computer geek types have lives, or something!

You're definitely going in the right direction. One thing to remember is don't push your sculpts too fast. If you're not doing this professionally, then you don't have a deadline. Therefore you can take your time and make sure your basic forms are there before you start detailing. If you detail too soon and then realize you have to go back and do a major makeover somewhere, usually all the time you spent detailing will have been a waste of time.
Try to learn something new about Zbrush every day. Watch every tutorial you can find, even the ones that don't pertain to what you're trying to achieve at the time. You never know when that lesson on putting decent looking folds and creases into a piece of cloth might come in handy. Many times something you learned in one lesson will help you with something that seems totally unrelated.

Try not to get too disturbed when you don't get many (or even any) responses to your posts. There's tons of people putting out massive amounts of great work here, and a lot of the time things get lost in the shuffle.

    Anyway, keep going and learning!

Joel: I can't do it... this just isn't working. I don't know how Shatner does it every week!
Crowe T. Robot: I don't know why he does it, or who lets him do it!

Thanks for your feedbacks Mr.MikeZkraken and Mr.voodoodad. I'll post some more pics when i have the time which features the head of the brachio. But for the muscle details i'm a bit stuck because it doesn't appear good at sub level 4(max). Also any testuring tips for this dino( links of tutos if any) cause i have never done texturing before!

And thanks again for your kind feedbacks, you rock!!! If only every member was like you guys! keep up the good work

Hey Mr, jmomo, sorry i didn't noticed your post! So first thanks for your feedback. Actually i did the base mesh in 3DS max and then imported it into zbrush as at that time i found it easier to model in 3ds. But as i've seen in many tutorials, zspheres seems to be a lot more easier to use and more time friendly, even though i can't seem to get all the zspheres having the same orientation resulting in twists here and there when converting it into a mesh.

Here is a video which shows the use of zspheres for the creation of a dino(but it's a bit fast):

    Hope it helps

Hey man! I think this is a great start. I would definitely grab some reference and study up on some of the anatomy and then go in and define the forms you have. Those are some sexy eyes

Hey there again! I can see you like your dinosaurs :P Again, I would try and define more of the anatomy. Here's a link to some trex anatomy http://www.zbrushcentral.com/attachm...chmentid=49126

I don't think the scales would normally be that large either. You should try using some alphas! Here's a couple of links that might help you out with your next dino sculpt !

Hi, and thanks for your help Nathan! I'm very grateful.

As for the dinos, i'm willing to make a small animation. That's why i want a good looking dino! But there is still a lot to do.
