Haha, I like it. Lovely solidity and texture on the model.

I'm just not so sure about the depth of field or blur around the outside of Harlequin. You asked about the background in my picture so in case you miss my answer, it was simply painted in photoshop. I had though about just using a plane3D and experimenting with noisemaker to make a nice wall-like texture. Perhaps you could try that and slightly blur it and leave Harlequin sharp?
