Is there any tutorial on how to setup the brush i want?

I find it very complex to create brushes i want! Is it more settings beside in the Stroke,Brush and alpha tabs?

I want to create brushes for carving out concrete damages and cracks!Also rocks and stones but i cant figure which brushes and alphas i need for the task

This is the one i have been looking at.Nice cracks but how did he do it and is it a standrad brush with standard aphas.Cannt figure out the settings
