Looks fantastic Rick, and I love hearing the story and your appreciation for it. Most people here have started for a similar reason when they found a work when they were younger that inspired them, and it's really cool that you are active here on ZBC progressing along with everybody. It's a constant inspiration that I can guarantee pushes a lot of people to work harder and get that much better. I know it has for me personally on more than one occasion, so I have to say an infinite thanks to you, and I'll always be looking forward to more from you.

Great job Rick I'd say you nailed it.

One of my regrets is selling off my collection of those magazines in a swap meet in 1973 if my memory is correct. As a kid I never missed an issue from the local Rexall Drug Store. Never missed that one or Mad Magazine.

As a kid, I also wanted to do exactly what you do. That magazine had a lot to do with that.

My Sister, twenty four years my senior, left a box behind with all the older ones and I had a complete set through 1969 I think. Wish I still had them all. Oh well

I just pulled the dongle out for Lightwave which I still hate even though it's the one I have. Your using Modo I think, seems I saw some posts there of yours a while ago? I do this for a hobby and find Lightwave tedious beyond reason, so I'm considering Modo instead of upgrading LW.

Anyway, thanks for sharing with us. Time for me to lay the other software aside and try out all these new features. I got sidetracked around version 3. Looks like some great stuff happening with ZBrush.

    Thanks guys.
Blaine, I fortunately still have my Famous Monsters but unfortunately did get rid of my aurora model kits which to this day I still regret.
Last year I did a couple of cover paintings for the new Famous Monsters which I was kind of jazzed about. like I said that Magazine was one of the main reasons I do what I do.

Yes I am a modo user but have hardly touched the latest version though I am anxious to. I too have lightwave but haven't upgraded to the newest versions.
I like them both but I found modo easier to work and you don't need a dongle it is also good for mutual machines which is cool. It hasn't quite caught up with LW with all of the features but close.
You must play with the new stuff in ZB .I have been having a blast doing so and am sorry that I have to stop for a while.
If anyone is interested I can post a bigger version of Dorian I rendered him large .Anyways it has been nice being back here on ZBC and playing with this amazing app.

"Now I know I have a heart, because it's breaking." Rick, you know that just because you won't be posting new work doesn't mean you have to be a stranger, right? Watching your work and reading your comments these past few months has motivated me to become so much better than I was, and I know that's true for a lot of people here. And please be sure to let us know when the book is ready. I will be looking for it!

In all honesty and I am sorry to keep bringing it up but, "An American Werewolf in London". Is the movie that inspired me and started me down this path. I was pretty young when I saw it, probable about 8 haha, a bit young but, it left an impression.
So I to would like to say: Thanks Mr. Baker for all the inspiration and for being some one to aspire to. Also, thanks for making that awesome Werewolf
    I look forward to MIB3!

    Thanks Mr. Baker,

    all the best to you
    Ryan

Well I am having posting withdrawal so I will post a closer version of this guy even though no one asked.
It turns the Attack of the Show deal was on last night.so I guess you missed it.

Ryan, what kind of parents did you have to let an 8 year old watch American Werewolf no wonder it left an impression.

Anyways I will try and squeeze in some ZBrush time inbetween doing chapters of my book just to keep my sanity,oh wait I lost my sanity years ago
