Hi ,sorry for the late reply, It has been a busy couple of days. I did get the chance to try adjusting the floor grid size and it still did the same thing. It definitely has something to do with the Paint BPR filter settings that I was using, though I was still getting a strange shadow with a hard straight edge on the floor. I decided to re start and see if that helped but as it turns out apparently I didn't save the scene just the tool so I lost all of my material and light settings. I will have some time today and hopefully will have something worth of posting after that. As far as my fibermesh settings they are different on different parts of the rat. You just have to play with the sliders and get something that looks good. I'm happy to share the fibermesh that I saved .I'm not quite sure how to do that though. The thing is that it really seems dependent on many factors like the size and poly count of the mesh it is applied to what lights and the materials use stuff like that .Anyways I am anxious to get back to work on him so I'll stop now and do just that.

Rick there is another thing I was thinking that it could be and that is dependent on whether you were using lightcaps ? If so I thought maybe you used lightcaps with and alpha and the alpha was casting that as a shadow ? Not sure it is just a idea and I had a similar artifact issue ... I know it has something to do with the lighting etc ... If it was for example a square alpha there is a chance that the lightcap might do this. As well not sure if you use FB but there is a large FB zbrush artist group ... we always are helping each other out there. If interested message my profile and I will send you a link to it ... Not always our best art there but we look for critiques etc ... and only the group is allowed in to post etc ... Anyway I have had same thing happen with the settings and materials ... So many programs and apps and so little time .... Your work always rocks and my niece and nephew as well loves the work you do !

Worked on him a bit .I think the whiskers are too thick and to many but I thought he is looking kind of cool so I'm posting another work in progress image. Straight out of ZB render no post work other than adding my name and adjusting the levels a tiny bit.I gave up on the paint BPR effect and added a chunk of rock under him instead of the floor.

Here is a closer shot of my rat I think I am gong to call him finished for now and move on to a monster of some sorts.Originally I was going to add the rat or two ,to the beast in the cave but I think because of it's poly count it will crash the other scene. I guess I could render him separately and add them in post.
Anyways I feel like something more monstrous would be fun. Hope you guys like him I learned a lot doing him.
