Smile My first attempt at Zbrush (first model)

Hi guys this is my very first attempt at zbrush, i am using zbrush4 and i have just started learning it last weak.
i am also an old XSI user but after buying a tablet i started working on zbrush and i love it, please give me any pointers that you can, i know the model is not perfect lots of lots of problems and i just got a hang of texturing with spotlight , but any advice is welcome.
The way the design belongs to ( MICHAEL DASHOW ) i have found his model sheet online and i hope he dosnt mind that i used it, his design was more cartoony but i tried to make a little more realistic specialy with the octopus, thank you :D

    Thumbs up

Amazing first post and first sculpt! Very nice work! I love the little details like the fish belt buckle. Was this all Zbrush or did you use XSI for the base mesh? Cheers, David

    Default Thank you

Hi david and tanx for your comment, as this was my first time i made some of the objects in xsi first then imported them to zbrush but just a base mesh nothing more than a couple of hundred polys, its easier for me to make a more acurate profile in xsi, and the model sheet was very detailed, im not really happy about the texures i really didnt have much choice and used what i had, working on a 6 year old sony vaio with a A6 bamboo tablet so its a little hard working but im gettin used to it.

This is an amazing first piece. I don't have many crits. I think an area you could improve upon is the lips. It doesn't look like you made a mouth bag? While this isn't necessary it does make it easier to make it look like two separate lips. A useful tip that I didn't learn for a long time is to make the lower lip/chin area a separate polygoup for easy masking. This makes tweaking a breeze.
