I'm more interested in the price. 3DCoat's auto topo looks pretty amazing.

Same here. If it works as good as the screenshot shows (not including that wonky ear lol) then price truly becomes irrelevant, and if priced competitively against apps like 3D Coat and Topogun, I'd expect QRemesher will take a big chunk of their customers away from them.

But 3dcoat already brings a host of features to the table (complete new clean auto topology) which it probably won't include.

And for non commercail use, 3dcoat is only $100. To be competitive, qremesher would have to be a fraction of that cost.

I own 3D Coat and am trying to help out with beta testing whenever I have some free time. I wouldn't say autopo always generates clean meshes. I find myself fixing n-gons/triangles frequently upon completion, as well as capping anything that terminates as a single point (tentacles for instance). It's not really a big deal as these things are usually easy to fix. Autopo really can save a lot of time, especially on anything that doesn't need to be deformed when animated, and I'll take that over the zsphere method any day. I feel that the autopo feature, while close, isn't as good as it could be yet. Just looking at that one QR screenshot alone tells me it might just have 3D Coat beaten in that department. It will certainly be interesting to compare the two once we finally get our hands on it.

Indeed QRemesher would have to be less costly as you say, but we don't have a clue what it's full capabilities are yet so it might still be worth buying even if it ends up costing more than other applications which do similar tasks. I only say QR might steal 3D Coat customers because I know there are a lot of folks who bought it for automatic retopology alone. The other stuff is just a bonus that not everyone uses. Plus with version 4 of 3DC on the horizon, I'm positive some folks will feel the money that needs to be spent to upgrade would be better spent on something that has proven itself superior (only if it turns out to be so of course). We also don't know what the upgrade policy is going to be for QR. If it's the same as the one for ZBrush, that just adds tremendously to it's value too.

It just seems very odd that almost 2 months after that mention, there hasn't been one mention about it anywhere at all.

Its not uncommon that there are release delays, but it is uncommon that no feature list, youtube videos, or even pictures or prices have been posted anywhere.

No, there has not been one word officially posted anywhere either by Pixo or by the creators of Qremesher.

Why not just download the trial of 3dcoat, and use that for 30 days? I'm pretty sure its fully functional, and its auto retopo feature only requires a few mouse clicks.
