Hey guys. I just figured out how to make and post videos to Youtube. I used Cam Studio , Virtualdub , and did the music with Myna .
I notice there wasn't much for Vids for Sculptris yet, So post them here !!
Thought I'd answer Tony's question with a quick vid. I find it much easier to get fine details like skin, hair and Wood in Paint Mode using the "Combine color and bump" option.
After making all these vids on how Wings3d can be very helpful with Sculptris, I remembered how confused I was when I first used it .... so here are some basics for Wings3d.
Hey all im new to this forum, to sculptris, and even to sculpting. I decided to take all my saves and make a video documenting my progress.
I just want to say THANK YOU to the makers of sculptris for making it free. It's such an intuitive and fun app. If I could afford zbrush I'd totally buy it.
Here's part 1 of a Sportscar build in timelapse. All done with Wings3d and Sculptris. Notice the very low Polycount....
Here's part 2, finishing the body, UV mapping and Painting. Notice I Use Roadkill in the UV mapping. Wings3d is easier to work in, but RoadKill Unwraps better, so I jump back and forth.
and finaly Part 3. I notice when making the vid I forgot to add the dual exhaust I left room for on the body. To the point where the vid ends, theres 8116 faces (mostly quads) 8504 vertices. Remember the wheels and suspension are x4 so depending on the game (or engine) those might could be Imposter-duplicates, and they are almost half the Polygons.
I decided to do this quick tutorial on "How to import to Trackmania using the old Blender script" and I did it with the same car as above, to make the project complete.

It's Sculpt mode in Wings3d. The tools are very minimum, not like Sculptris. That was the Smooth function. I keep it on Smooth and have it set up on keyboard shortcut. Yes it's very handy using it the way I did here.
If you guy's haven't figured it out, I've been getting bored lately and started digging into Wings 3D and Sculptris functions I don't normally use. This morning I discovered the "Put on" command in Wings3D that works very similar to Zbrush's mesh insert brush. It's not quite as fast, but using it in conjunction with some "User defined keyboard shortcut" (which I defined) I've got it down to 2 key presses and 2 mouse clicks. The object to be inserted must already be scaled, and this is NOT a boolean, the inserted meshes show as seperate objects both in Wings3d and Sculptris. But it works and I'll be having a lot of fun with this !!! Hope it's helpful to some of you as well. Check this out.
