I suspect that it'll be out before they visit family for Christmas or just right after the holidays, if they follow their typical delay pattern. Either way, I don't think that it should be too far away.

Your ZB version is listed in the title bar way up top. If it says that you've already got ZBrush4R2 then you should be current. Otherwise, you're going to probably need to contact Pixologic directly. The download link and upgrade instructions for 4R2 come from Cleverbridge.

I'm going WOOOOHOOOO! already and its not out yet, you just cant hear me cause you are too far away and its very windy here.
This time however I hope that MAYBE I have learned and wont check every 30 seconds.... I'm a slow learner so thats not likely....
I swear I'm not going to go check right now, I wont, I seriously wont do it I tell you....
    aww screwit...
    I lied, hang on....
    Nope.
    Not out yet.
    Here we go again!
    YAY!

I would love to start seeing more of "Rendered in Zbrush"
...and less "Rendered in (Vray, Mental Ray, Modo, Octane, etc)"

Lets beef up the rendering, PLEASE.

Z4R2b will mostly involve bug fixes, so we'll have to wait for Z5 onwards before seeing any major feature upgrades. Nevertheless I have to agree with you. The really outstanding materials don't work at all with BPR, requiring "Best" mode to render correctly. Like many others I'm hopeful we'll also see adaptive/dynamic subdivision some day, similar to Sculptris but for quads instead of tris. As awesome as dynamesh is, I've discovered it's still possible to run out of polygons if I'm not careful.

At this point I'm guessing we'll see it early in Jan.

I thought they manually send out the links and it takes a week to get them out?

Odds are they'll all be off for the holidays soon, so I doubt we'll all see the release this year unless they are releasing the patch differently than the past few releases.

(Not knocking them at all... I'm more than happy to wait a week or two for the free updates I've been getting for years now!)

Nothing. TADA!! Surprised? Count on 4R2b being 99% bug fixes, probably to make some of the new R2 features more stable and predictable. People shouldn't get their hopes up for more than that and start expecting any extra Pixo luvin' in their X-Mas stockings. 4R2b is likely just a maintenance release.

I would like to see the Ambient Occlusion and Cavity Map creations fixed (instead of the workaround, which does work).
