Akaime; The only official "training" I have is the hard surface dvd's from eat3d. The rest is just a lot of experimentation and hoarding thousands of reference images. If collecting images counted, I'd probably have to make an appearance on one of those extreme hoarding shows . I try to do something at least a little different each time I start one, so I don't get into a rut of making one thing after another and having them all end up looking the same. That's how the steampunk horse started out.

    Kilik128; Thanks!

Again trying something a bit different. And trying to keep it looking a little more technically believable by making joints and such look like they might actually be able to give a good range of movement.

Definitely seeing a marked improvement with every piece you do. Good job!

I think your absolutely right about trying something different every time and not getting into a rut. Experimenting can quickly lead to new ideas and to different ways of doing things. Not only that, it also never gets boring. Keep up the good work!

I photoshopped a couple of dozen Japanese/samurai related alphas today, so if anyone needs or wants them post here and I'll be happy to zip them up and attach them.

Interesting way to use fibermesh. I'm certain someone else has done this, but I haven't seen it. The streamers coming off the polearm are fibermesh.

Hi Gary, I like ALL your experimenting (heck lot more than what I am doing-). This is cool. It's a mixer of old meets future. One thing though, 'I think' that your intensity is just a tad bit too strong when you put in the designs??? Also, an 'edge' to the armour would really help tie it all in (the cool designs you used look lonely without some kind of support-). And I agree, great use of the fiber mesh!

Thanks, Dragon! Yeah, I'm gonna go in and smooth back the engravings a little bit. ON looking back, I should have used inflate balloon instead of inflate. Oh well, if I don't make at least 100 mistakes per sculpt I feel like I haven't learned anything.

A little progress today. I still need to figure out what I want to do with the left arm (first priority) and then add some more armor pieces and decorative doodads.

Umm... does anyone else ever sit at theiir computer after uploading a pic here and start clicking on the picture constantly trying to figure out why you suddenly can't rotate your mesh?

Nobody does that? Good! I don't do it either... really...
