fog, grass… and did a Render

Last week I took care of some unfinished business…

It’s based on a sketch I did on Christmas Eve

Supergeil!

That furr looks perect!
What settings did you use?

Thank you!

The fur wasn’t a big deal:

  1. I textured/painted my model as i thought a Reindeer would look like (light neck and belly, dark back, etc.)
  2. I added a lot really short fuzzy hair
  3. Then I used the ZProject Brush to color the hair with the same pattern as the skin.
  4. Last thing I did was grooming the fur with the Lengthen-, Turbulence- and Move Brush

I love all your work here but I LOVE the Christmas lights on the reindeer! Any chance you’d care to share how you made them/ made them light up? (Noobies like me run into issues trying these things :stuck_out_tongue: )

Thank you very much chrono!

The wires are made of ZSpheres and the lights were placed using Fibermesh and the Micromesh feature.

The whole thing was lit up in Photoshop:
I rendered the small bulbs separately with the Flat Color shader and put them on two layers

  • The first one was blurred slightly to create a glow effect
The second was blended in “Screen” mode on top

Thanks so much for the explanation!

you’re welcome

Lord Of The Rings-style orc that started as character creation test.

I hope you like it
