    Default Svengoolie

    Grew up watching this guy on Chicago TV, so figured i'd kill two birds with one rubber chicken here, my sister wanted me to make her a Svengoolie figure so i'm getting this printed and entering the contest as well. I haven't zbrushed in over a year so i was a bit rusty.
    Please note that the rubber chicken is inflated due to being setup for 3d printing.
    I may make a scene for this, not sure yet.
    Happy Halloween to everyone!

    Thanks guys! Yeah Sven is still on, we watch him every week, my sister chats with him sometimes on facebook, i think she may give this model's print to him, so who knows you may see it on his desk in a few months.
    I still have sweet memories of when he showed Creature from the Black Lagoon in 3D, it was funny cause if you didn't have great reception on your TV it looked pretty bad.
    I even married someone from Berrrrrrwynn!! lol.

    @pabgo
    from what i understand it has something to do with the Houby day parade which celebrates a mushroom, so he's making fun of it because of that. i could be wrong though.

    I finally got my Shapeways model, made with the Frosted Ultra Detail, and i have to say it does have most of the detail i put in considering its only 2.75 inches tall, however there is some weird banding on parts of the model which is unlike other 3d prints i've seen its almost as if the print tray was getting jarred or something. I decided not to sand it though, which i now regret, i painted it with watercolor paints cause its easy to fix mistakes without any buildup caused by normal acrylic paints.
    Lastly i have to say it great to finally have something real, physical after all these zbrush virtual years.

    Great subject, great model!

    I work with the Objet machines Shapeways used to print your model on a daily basis. (Do not work for Shapeways however) Next time, get them to reprint your model for you. When banding like that occurs, it is because of a problem with the machine, and they should not be selling objects like that.

    The machine prints liquid resin in layers, cured with UV lamps in the print head. Every so many layers, (perhaps 100 in HQ mode, which I'm sure these are run at) the print head stops to purge and wipe the heads, to keep everything flowing smoothly. If it's not wiping properly, you'll see a line in the model every time the head stopped to purge.

    Hope this helps! If anybody has questions regarding the machine, it's capabilities or the process, feel free to PM, or start a new thread and let me know about it.
