I had a nice idea for the Challenge image, so had to give this a go. Really enjoying myself, which is the important thing, isn't it?
Good luck everyone!

Not very Halloweenesque yet is it? Patience, Grasshopper!
This is how I make a quad poly cube in ZBrush without resorting to other software. For this project it is going to be a shoe. WIP image of that to follow later.

'will it involve an egg?'
Something of a safe bet!![]()
the deconstructed polysphere trick works well. I have an alternate method if you intend to use a starting shape that's brick, stick or wall-like. Bring out the Cube3D shape and adjust the WYZ values in the Initialize options. If it's relatively equal in height, width and depth this won't work so well (odd results) but if it's elongated in some way (like a wall or brick) set the resolution and smoothing options to their minimums in Unified Skin, then create a unified skin. You will get your shape made of evenly laid out square polygons and ready for good sculpting. I know this isn't for a perfect cube, for that I'd go with SpaceBoy's suggestion. But I do hope this is useful to you as well.

All good suggestions!
Here's how I start a shoe:-

Shoelaces!
And here's how I make eggshell fragments:-

Shell fragments exploded and yolk/albumen flowing out.
I'm having trouble getting BPR Transparency refraction to work. Has anyone any insight?
I like your experiments!! Could you elaborate on the shattering egg shell effect?
thanks for your time, betamax
Haha wow this looks well mysteriousYou've got me intrigued! Great sculpting, and nice techniques! I would love to see what this is going to become!! Good luck!
Thanks Arianrocket! Betamax, the eggshell pieces were Tool/Extract extracted from an egg shape that I'd made from a PolySphere that I'd shaped with Deformation/Taper and Gravity. The egg shape was slashed with the SliceCurve brush to give fracture lines and the shards I liked I extracted, subdivided with Smooth off, applied a bit of ClayPolish and Transpose Moved them into their exploded positions.
Here's an arm made using the same techniques employed on the shoe tutorial above.

Great thread! Each entry is a little great tut: fuel for a zBrush addicted like me!
You are killing me and my curiosity showing your work a piece at a time![]()
