Jeb looks great! Will be interesting to see the deterioration process.
Maybe you can present it as a series of pictures and a small diary like:
"Day One, 18th of October, 1811
Gosh dangit! A rat bit me to today.
It was the biggist tootin´ rat I´ve seen in my life.
The place he bit me itches like crazy."
If you notice I mimiced the date of the day you did the picture but 200 years ago. It doesn´t have to be an entry every day,
just excerpts from Jeb's diary on major events.
You should see the process on the handwriting as well, it all getting more and more jittery..
Thanks satriowijaya!
I was actually debating whether or not to write the diary in first person, but you're right, it sounds more dramatic in his own words. Have you read Gogol's Diary of a Madman? I'm planning on following that kind of structure, really similar to what you suggested.
I'll be posting a more dacayed Jeb later tonight.

I had a feverish dream of crows clawing at my flesh and bot flies getting under my skin... I feel like I grind my teeth to dust in my sleep. I recon it must be the long days of toil.

By the end of the challenge I hope to have a series of models at different stages, so I can show a visual timeline of Jeb decaying. FUN!

I'm hungry, but nothing in this darn cabin can keep me fed! Gee what's this, I just found me an old picture of yours truly. I wish I could go back to that...

This is coming on very nicely!
Have you thought of presenting the Zombification as an animated gif, with Zeb morphing through his various stages of decomposition over time? Could be stunning. Very few people show their use of this ZBrush feature; and playing with an animated timeline could make your entry stand out.
I do like the journal idea, too though.
Best of luck!
Rory
Thanks Rory! I'll look into the timeline feature, that's a great idea! I have to admit, I haven't really used it except for camera bookmarks. But if it can create some sort of transformation timelapse, that would be great.

The zombification process is coming out very well!
I like very much this character (the human one and the zombificated): you are doing a very god job on it.
Thanks Guti! At this stage I'll be finishing his textures and then posing for the final.

That beard is a Fibers Material effect, or polygons?
Looking back over the progress of the WIP I was struck by how much more the opaque, white eyes looked more zombiesque than the recent ones. Sometimes less is more![]()

Hi jcuadra,
It is coming out very well.
I love the colors and the skin effect... I can almost smell the stench of the rotting meat!
I agree with Rory_L for the eyes... the opaque material of the eyes on the "Day 2" images as a "less life" effect that is more appropriate than the more realistic and live of the last renders.
I will keep in mind that as I have the same problem with the eyes of my zombie!
