Default And the winner is... (guti's Halloween Challenge WIP)

I got a nice idea, though perhaps not quite original and maybe a little complicated, but quite funny!

    It's a comic sketch...

    Halloween party in costume.
    Award for the best costume.
    On stage:
    - Presenter
    - a boy dressed as a mummy that got the third place
    - a girl dressed as a sexy-witch that got the silver medal
    - a zombie ranked first

Ok, ok, you already know that the winner is a real monster ... but the others did not yet know ... at least until the announcer raises his arm of the winner to decide the victory and "stack" the arms comes off and stays still dangling in the hand of the announcer.

Here some very quick sketch I did on a train returning from work

I hope I can do everything with due attention to the expiration date.

Yours should win already just on your story concept alone.

    Great, clever idea!

Thank you very much Eric! You are too kind

I like very much sculpting hands and in my final image there will be 8 hands...
I already have several base mesh of hands but I wanted to try the extrusion with masks of the ZBrush 4R2.
I was amazed: only 10 minutes (timed) to create a mesh base and refine it a bit.

    Here the video

Well, well. but now I have to adapt to the various characters

This movie shows a GREAT way to create hands in ZBrush. It also seems like a good approach to use in any modeler: anything from Maya to Silo. Thanks!

Nice technique on the hand!! Is that cube naitive to zbrush or did you import it? also how are you extruding the cube?

    Thanks!

@Skadalilama, kevphil: thanks! I'm glad that you could find it useful

@black104: The used cube is not native between the tools of zBrush, but you could find it in the default "zProjects" folder as "DefaultCube.ZPR". In order to obtain the simplest form I used the "Reconstruct Subdiv" a couple of time and after I deleted the "High subdiv".
The extrusion with mask is a new feature of the 4R2 release, it is beautifully illustrated on the video "DUPLICATE AND EXTRUDE": the last but one on THIS THREAD... basically if you mask part of your mesh and use the MOVE pressing "CTRL" you make an extrusion.

    Default Smacking my forehead!

I saw an extrusion video the other day and I did not think of this (hence the smacking of my forehead) at all. You should be rewarded for this!
