The Huich (witch) W.I.P.
This is my first Halloween Challenge. I spent most of the day thinking about the typical Halloween characters and I settled on the witch and have titled my entry "The Huich." I started with a Zsphere chain representing her silhouette. Next after hitting preview/Adaptive Skin I will use Dynamesh (my favorite feature).

The Huich: Concept 1
After being satisfied with my Zsphere chain I hit preview (A) then turned on Dynamesh to begin conceptualizing. Dynamesh is great for this because I do not have to worry about topology. I did turn on a layer before I began to sketch/sculpt. Once comfortable with the concept I will turn on another layer and save a morph target and continue to rough out my character. I'm happy with her pose (resting/personality pose) so I won't be messing with it...I hope, I tend to change things last minute...

All in Dynamesh. I like the way the face is coming out so far so I thought I'd share.
Using Dynamesh I have started to work on the body.
I spent a lot of time playing around with lights and material settings. I'm finding that there is too much glare or ambient occlusion I think. I like skinshader04 with wax turned on but there is too much glare, in some angles I can't see certain details so I was trying to find a setting that flattened it a bit...no luck so I decided to work in basic material and figure out the settings I'm happy with later. I did spend a few more minutes on her body working out her dress' look and character. She's still in very a very rough stage and I like her dress more than I'm liking her face so I might be making some changes tonight after work. Turns out my "The Huich" is a bit of a snob. now I have to get ready for my bike ride to my job (non-creative deli).
Here is an image of the beginning of my dress Subtool sculpt. I sketched the the dress as a part of the body (one subtool), extracted then deleted the lower portion of the body. so now my subtools are: torso (head and arms/hands included), eyes, dress rings, and dress.

a bit more progress on the dress, I did some moving with the move brush, now I have turned on Back Face Auto Mask: brush>auto masking> backfacemas. Ready for my attempt at sculpting some drapery.

Hi all. Here is some more progress on the dress. the wrinkles/drapery are quick sketched to get a feel for it, I'll be posing her I think so I didn't want to put too much thought into the wrinkles now. I added a base and tried to bevel it like a wooden base but couldn't figure it out, lol and didn't want to spend too much time on a base so it's just a slab for now. Have to get ready work (job) soon . I'll be working on the face later, I'm not liking it.
I'm not finished with my sculpt and I will post progress before I sleep. I'm thinking of how in one model I can assign one material to one of it's subtools (like chromeA to a piece of jewelry) and skindshader04 to skin so I can paint her. I select the chrome material for the piece of jewelry and it's assigned to all the subtools. How if possible to I go about assigning different materials to different subtools? thanks.

Sculpted some more detail. Next I will put some eyes in her to build more on her disposition.

You have to paint the materials onto the tool, with the M button turned on, but the Mrgb, Rgb and Zadd turned off.

Dynamesh is awesome. She has a horn on her back that I originally designed between her shoulder blades. I didn't like the profile look of it so I did some masking and moved it up and rotated it a bit-stretched polys everywhere. I hit Dynamesh and almost instantly the model is re-meshed ready for more sculpting. Dynamesh is great.
