Finally I eliminated the mistakes I always did with the ZSphere Topology - so I could start with a quick try out of hardsurface modeling - following the tutorial from eat3D.com by Mike Jensen.

I used a MATCAP by BIO-DESIGNER (lime green plastic)

The "issue" was sitting infront of the screen. It was simple but I just never got to it until I recorded the issue and posted it on the troubleshooting forum. When I watched it again I finally saw that my last step before starting to draw new topology was to MOVE the ZSphere into the referencemesh - and there I didn't switch back to DRAW mode...arrrgh!
Also I had problems with moving the topology - this is simply fixed by unmasking all - since some points are masked during drawing new topology and you have to unmask them first before you can move them.

So all in all this is something I fight with for almost 2 weeks now and stupid me just did a tiny thing which caused that big problem...but for sure I'll never forget about this from now on...

VISE, your hard-surface model looks great! A ton better than my first try. Nice job!

    Thumbs up Love it!

The Hate Mondays work.... I love this piece!.. The texture on the clothing gives it that extra perk too! This is a style I can relate to as well. Kudos!

Default TUBE MONSTER - Vinyltoy Production

Didn't post anything for a while due some health problems and many other things I'm involved in.
    However...

Here's my ZBrush previsualization and concept model for a toy production which is currently in prototype stage.
Hopefully ready to be released at NYCC this october.

The toy is based on my custom TUBE series (involving Dunnys, Qees, Hello Kitty etc.) which you can see on my website if you're interested.

So here are some renders and an early prototype in clay.

The prototype still has to be modified (proprtions and some details have to be corrected)

    Awesome!

Are you going to get a 3d print done and use that as your master for molding?

I'll definitely see you at NYCC this year.

Hey Steve - for sure we'll hang out!

The factory is sculpting the prototype by hand after my 3D renders - they came pretty close for the first try - I did some paintovers with the corections and will see if they can manage it close to my design.
If not we might go for 3D print and I'll send them over the file.
Due balancing and manufacturing issues they can't stick 100% to my proportions...but like I said - they already did a great job staying close to the 3D model.

Hey VISEone, again it was great hearing from you again. I hope biodesigner is doing better, last I read, he was not doing so well. Like I had told you, love this design. Simple, yet has that 'grab me and collect me' feel. Like the balance between the tube and the character. Great expression on the characters face! Like you, can't wait too see this thing produced and in colour!. K, I should stay more in touch (as I had told you about my hospital issue etc). Best, Dragon.

After a loooong time of beeing sick and getting myself back on track I finally found the time to sit down at ZBRUSH again and check out the amazing new features. At the beginning it seemed like I had to start from skratch again...

However - I started to work on new characters for my TUBE MONSTER vinyltoy series which just got released at NYCC last year.
We plan to release 2 more characters during this year.

    So here's a wipshot:
