    Arrow ZScript: Nibbles 1.0b - Updated 03/05/03

A new breed of ZGame: Keyboard input!

    Nibbles 1.0

Nibbles is a game most of you will have played before. You navigate a worm around different levels trying to collect energy while avoiding a collision with walls or with yourself. As you collect energy, your tail grows, making it harder for you to avoid running into it. To get to the next level, you need to eat ten pieces of food. The number of levels depends on what "world" you are playing.
When loading a world, open the file with no number after it. (A ten-level world is included in Nibbles 1.0 called Nibbles World One.)

    Download here: Nibbles 1.0

To run, unzip the download and load Nibbles.ZSC.

    Enjoy!

Also: I will be uploading a level editor soon.

    EDIT - 03/05/03 - Version 1.0b

    Download here: Nibbles 1.0b

Unzip the two files to the same directory you installed Nibbles 1.0 in. (You need to download the first file before downloading this update.)

    In this update:
Help button in the Settings panel
Fixes the no food bug that LWTB noticed
Added Digit's suggestion of an auto load

    Wow, Muvlo

I wanted to try it but it keeps telling me the world file I have selected to load is invalid. I tried various ones you had in the world folder to no avail

    Looks cool!

Thanks for trying it LWTB. Good clarification on the Settings script, which I forgot to provide instructions for.

Digits: The file to open is WorldOne.ZVR. (The script then loads level WorldOne1.ZVR, WorldOne2.ZVR, and so on.) Hope it works!

argh!!! you are evil Muvlo. I got it running, the other world files in there must be levels, but now I have no hair!

I think I am getting too old my fingers don't twitch like they use to, but clever use of zscripts my friend, I bet Pixolator never thought it could be put to use in this way.

a suggestion, is there a way to restart the level without reloading the script and having to load up the world file again? I ask because the open file always opens up in the zbrush root directory and then I have to navigate thru scripts/muvlo/nibbles/worlds/nibblesworldone to start the game again even thou I only lasted a few seconds !!!

ive played it a bunch of times now...addicting

i've only had one problem and it only happened once. on the first level of world one like no "food" spawned for energy level 10 so i couldnt advance...maybe it just spawned under my "tail" and disappeared...i dunno, but i had to restart it. no big deal tho

Great game tho..i really mean it, nice job

Sorry about the hair, Digits. However, I will add what you suggested.

Glad you are all enjoying it.

I have noticed the same bug you've noticed, LWTB, I'll fix that in the next update.

And I'll add those two games to the list, Cameyo and Frenchy! Tetris looks like it might be the next one though.

And finally, here is the Nibbles 1.0 source code:

Nibbles Source [EDIT: Now old, see first post]

(Sorry about the lack of comments in the script.)
