Love this.. I hope you get top row..
it took me exatly one month, working 3 to 4 hours/day! Most time I've spend on the grass and on their clothes! =)

Thanks dude! I hope so too! hahah! =D

For the hair I've used hairfarm. I don't like 3ds native hair plugin, it's slow to render and for me it has a lack of options (curly hair, for example), and hairfarm it's easy and fast (also it's vray compatible), so I've made a render of it alone and compose on photoshop (and make a little paintover to increase details) - sorry, my 3ds max is crashing when I try to open the Nerdy hair file... =/

And for the grass I've usde a Vray2SidedMtl - an awesome shader for faking translucent objects like paper and leafs! And I also used a VrayOverrideMtl for override the GI color, putting a more vivid green diffuse - this helped a lot to multiply the color bleeding! =)

Fantastic. Personally I think he has a good job of modeling, character design and textures, but above all, I love the composition of the scene and the final rendering.

Thanks Framedword! I love the main message of this scene, that's one of the main reason that I've decided to make it!

Oh, and just to share with you guys, here's a little overview of the light setup... it's pretty simple! =)

I betcha it will be once he has explained how everything was done, Pixologic is a school thinly disguised as a software company.

    oh yah:
    I love this picture!
    nope...

    GRIN!!!!!

I haven't a clue, you're ability's are way beyond mine! But it looks to me like you are doing a fine job of showing how it was done.
For me its what the image says and the fact there is nothing detracting from it, but that is just me. People like Framedworld know what they are talking about, I just like it a lot and tend to babble and push lots of buttons to see what happens!
