High to Low Poly Tutorial for Games using Zbrush

http://videogameartist.wordpress.com/2011/07/08/high-to-love-poly-game-modeling-tutorial/

Very cool, thanks :+1:

really great tut man!!!
my workflow is maya-zbrush-maya without using xnormal first modeling the lowpoly in maya, unwrapping it in maya and then going to zbrush to detail it. The thing is that generally in in zbrush i see the texturing and the other maps perfectly, but when i go to maya, at the seams there’s a huge gap between the seams, does it has anything to do with the smooth UV’s in zbrush? what can i do?
thanks again great tut.

Gah so much info so fast! It’d be great if this was slightly better video quality because it’s hard to see what you’re doing in photoshop and Xnormal. But it seems you’re overlaying the normal map made from diffuse (but delete green channel) over other normal map made from high poly model in Xnormal to make it look grittier and also

  • color map + ambient occlusion map on top with multiply + texture found online overlayed = diffuse map?
Sorry for the weird text format, I was taking notes and copied-pasted from there.

Very insightful. And funny.
