    Post Hey my first doodle

Hi, glad to be part of this community. I was able to make this image thanks to ed_the_atom templates(Thank you!). I only change the shape a bit to look less 'grown' up I hope I can make my own soon.

As you can see most of the face has been noised because that part of face for some reason change its color from the rest of the face. I was zooming in to work on the eyes, after I chose pick (texture master) and zoomed out, more than half of the face was darker than the rest(original)...so had to improvise and make it seems shes wearing somekind of face ornament

So I have a few questions, I did use the search feature and did do most of the tutorials the best I can...bare with me.

1)Is there a 'zoom' feature, or is the scale enough. If the scale is the only tool, how do you make it so the model won't be too big that it goes outside it's layer space...for detail work.

    2) how do you change the bg color of the document, I always start of with black. When I Fill the layer it works, eventhough most of the models seem to go outside it's layer space like I mentioned before. I tried scaling it down but it rarely works and after I chose pick from the texture master it went black again.

Thats it for now, and this image was modeled after my lady friend...but she doesn't have green eye ...don't kill me!!

    Thanks...

    Very good first image.

To scale, click somewhere in the canvas to be sure it is active and then use the + key to zoom in. Then when you're done with the detail work, use the - key to zoom back out again.

I'm not sure about TextureMaster as I'm just learning about it myself so I'll bet someone else will jump in here to help with that.

The face almost looks like Celine Dejon (SP?).

Well hello and welcome! Glad you joined us. I have been messing with the heads as well.. it's fun eh? Anyhow you seem to have made a good start. Since I am a relatively new commer myself I am just learning as well, so I am afraid I cannot be of much help, except to say that there is a zoom tool at the top where the other icons are, it looks like a magnifying glass. Just click on it and it will open and you can zoom as much as you like.
I can't do it Vikki's way, cause I can't remember the keys to use, duh!

    Thanks Robo, LOL!

Naraku, texture your object first. In the texture palette you'll see your texture being created as you work along. Once you are finished texturing you can clear the canvas...CTRL+n, turn textures off, fill the layer, choose the texture you just created and draw your object on the canvas again.

That's the only way I know to do it and there probably is a better way, I just don't know it yet.

As for your objects disappearing....get the object into edit mode where you see the giro, then hold your left mouse button down and drag downward on the canvas, not on the giro...that should pull your object out of the void.

Welome aboard Naraku. I'll pick up the easy one, since it seems to have got missed above. The following screen shot shows how to change the document colour.

    1. On the Colour palette, pick the colour you want for your background. Here I chose blue.

    2. On the Document palette, select Modifiers then click on the big black rectangle just above New Document. It will change to your chosen colour (here blue).

    3. The document background will simultaneously be changed to that colour. You can see the corner of it in the screen shot.
