Default Dominance War V - Deathperado- The GodRider

    Hi folks...
Here is my entry for the Dominance War V :
    http://www.gameartisans.org/forums/showthread.php?t=20169
I post it on the ZbrushCentral forum because a friend of mine (Vincent D Izo) told me it was a cool Hard Surface stuff.
Personnaly, i think it's quite cool, but nothing very hard to do and so impressive.
But for sure i had lot of fun to do this piece with all the new brush and tools in ZBrush4.0.
All you comment and feedback about my work are welcome, because i'm not a longtime user of Zbrush, and still have lot of thing to lurn.
    Thanks

You did ALL the hard surfacing in ZBrush? If so... HOLY SMOKE!! Awsome concept. Would love to see this thing animated-

On a last note, any tips on how you created this creature i.e. tips on hard surfacing in ZBrush??

Very nice! Cool design and Execution. I must say, I had a hard time understanding what I was seeing at first glance at the first pic. My brain kept trying to make it a hunched over bipedal rebot.
No one ever expected a pencil to draw for them.

    @strangehighways : Thanks a lot (^_^)

@Sindo : Thx for congrat's. Hard surface is cool with Zbrush 4.0. But still a long and hard stuff : Rough Zbrush mesh, Masking your pieces, Extracting, EdgeLoop or Relax, then ClipCurve for chamfer or flat surfaces, FlattenBrush, hPolishBrush, ...And again and again with every piece.

@Dragon :Yes Everything was made in ZBrush...it was my "personal" challenge. I wanted to see as far as we can go with Hard surfacing stuff. And for my first glance, i was happy with Zbrush Tools.
Thanks for congrat's on the concept. I worked with ALCHEMYn then Photoshop for detail adds. ALCHEMY is real idea's box! For me it was really helpfull, because give you ideas you never add in front of a white sheet of paper.
For Tips the first thing you may have to look this awesome tutorial : http://eat3d.com/zbrush_hardsurface
And if you want more tips, i can try to give you what you need, just ask. it will be a pleasure to share with all of you.

@Poda :Thanks (^_^) ! And yes, i know for my Beauty Shot. Some friends of mine, after posting my final entry told me, it was hard to find his head (to small for some of them...but i wanted to keep this scale to emphasys the size of this god)...
But indeed the point of view hide the back left leg, we can't see clearly the left shoulderplate or even his left arm.
That's the problem; i saw this model during two months and when you create the final pose it's not easy to see default, because you exactly know how his your model. But you're right !
I'll try to post later some other point of view a wanted to do, but this one on the one where you see God AND Pedestal.
So you saw a hunched over a bipedal robot...mmmh interesting
    Thanks again for you feedback.

    andy.chen, xexex : thanks a lot (^_^)

Now FinalDominanceWar Public Votes are done, and i failed close from the goal. On GameArtisans they took 9 finalist and i'm number 11 (^_^) :
    http://wwww.gameartisans.org/contest...mlistings.html

But i'm really happy because it was only my second participation to the comp'. Cross my finger for the next year... if GameArtisan still alive, because it seems they have some troubles now (Hacking and GA Montreal Desk closing...Really a shame. Hope FredH will find some solution !)

And as i promised, here is some pictures from 2 other shots (closeUp) with my lowpoly model and my "HighPoly MakingOf" . Next post i'll put pictures for the lowpoly MakingOf:
