    Smile "Z" Trunk . . .

    'Morning all . . .

I was playing around this morning, & I came up with a Trunk, that I thought was pretty nifty. It's a great item for containing deep sea treasure, in your underwater scenes. Or you can use it to store you winter clothing & blankets in one of your attic scenes. Heheheh.

It's a MultiMarker object, that if you want to at the end of the ZScript, you can convert to a PolyMesh object & save it.

Anyway, if anyone is interested, please let me know & I'll post the ZScript for creating it. I realize it's not anything spectacular, for you experienced users, but it is something that maybe a newbie could use???

    Have a good one & I'll talk to'ya later . . . Mark.

    Thanks for the contribution, man!
That's what I think makes this place work...
people helping other people, and trying to be positive and constructive.
Wonderful trunk as well, before I forget myself in a we-the-people rap!

OK, . . . Here's the ZScript for the "Trunk or Chest" which ever pleases you. I had to do some, (cut & paste), to get the final version, but I've played it on my system 4 times & everything seemed to work just fine. If anyone has any problems with it please let me know, & I'll try to correct what ever I can.

Don't forget to select, "ZScript / Show Actions", & set the "ZScript / Modifiers / Replay Delay = 1000".

I hope some will enjoy this & have a good one . . . Mark.

PS: ( Hi Chris, I'm sorry my friend, this version does not have a hollow inside. I may do one in the future, but the main reason I didn't do it now is, because "Hide Points" will not transfer when converting to a "PolyMesh". And that is the only way to get an open ended object. )

Cool script Kruzr. I like how it shows multimarkers and materials both being used. Thanks!

my friend mark, here's what I have to say on hollow trunks made with the polymesh tool:

make four walls and a bottom, then make a half cylinder for the lid, and multimark them together

    lol.

a thinking artist, blah blah )

    and thanx for the zscript

    'Morning Chris . . .

I appreciate your thoughts on the construction of a hollow trunk, but there is a problem with, "then make a half cylinder for the lid". If you use any objects with "hidden polygons or points", you can't convert them into a "PolyMesh" object. ZBrush's PolyMesh tool does not convert "Transparent or Invisible" polygons or points while doing the conversion. What happens is, if you make a PolyMesh object from several separate objects & some of the separate objects have some of the polygons or points hidden, after the conversion the hidden polygons or points then become visible again.

But don't fret my friend, I'm working on a way to construct a hollow object that can be converted, without that problem. I'll keep you posted as it progresses.

    Have a good one Chris . . . Mark.

    Cool

wonderful script, Mark! it’s a pleasure watching you getting things done, always something new to discover! i especially liked the way you did the handles, i did not realize, that the ring could get rectangular until now! i’m sure you are doing something similar already, but i suggest to hollow the lid by using a 3d-ring at 180coverage and stretching it anyway, as i am in pre-dinner wisecracking-mode right now

juandel, my friend, this was my thought as well. godsdamn it, you're faster

    lol

anyways, there's probably some deficiencies in Zbrush, but simple objects such as that shouldn't be so hard to model

    go, Mark, go!
