    Hi Dom

This probably won't give you the sort of help you need or want but it might be useful: It was pointed out to me once that the human body is basically a tube?!

I'd say it would be best to make the body in pieces and after composing it the way you want and setting everything in the scene, then use the glow brush with ZAdd turned on to blend and smooth out the seams where the pieces join together.

    Question

    Dom,
Put pen to paper and create a sketch of what you want the pose to look like first. There's no need to build what you are not going to see. It really depends on the pose, and view to set out to acomplish.
Take your time and build your model part by part (torso 2 hips, arms, legs, all depending on what your sketch looks like). Put them all together and use tools like the blur brush to hid the joins.
I'm afraid your all alone when it comes down to what you can do. It's all up to your own personal skills. Building body parts is like building your previous demon heads. Look at a anatomy book, and apply what you see to your sketch.

    Hi Dom...
Don't know if this will help, but this is the torso of a figure, one of three, that I'm doing for a piece I hope to post next week...

As you can see, most of it is inflate and masking, mixed with some added material which is 'carved'.
